Another one of the 2021 remastered reissues, The American Way was originally released in 1990 and by itself almost makes you realize why thrash kind of died for a while. This is overall not such a bad album, except for close "31 Flavors" which is essentially a funk song and sound so out of place, it's not funny. There's a bit of ...and Justice for All going on here, though not as good but I couldn't help myself but think of that album here and there. While Sacred Reich's musicianship is not to be disputed on this album, the songs themselves are rather uninspired clean thrash that will sound bland to anyone with more than 3-4 thrash albums of the period in their collection. While I wouldn't call any of the songs skippable (except for the horrible "31 Flavors"), except for soaking in some of the guitar wizardry scattered here and there this is not an album I'd reach for when I'm in the mood for good thrash, even back in the day.
