With Phoenix Aria continue on a path that saw them stray somewhat from their early über catchy Maiden-worship style and onto a "tamer", yet still crunchy approach to their craft. You'll still find a little Seventh Son-era Maiden influences here and there, but for the most part this is a relatively quiet, mid-paced affair that doesn't have those "fuck, yeah!" moments of early releases, but is still quite listenable. The vocal lines are not as memorable as in the past, but there are still some little gems in here and the music and songwriting is quite accomplished. This is one of those albums that's quite fitting for a quiet afternoon where you want to relax, yet still have your music pack a little punch.
