Hellcrash are... you know what, just read the album's title and look at its cover. It probably makes you think you're going to get some dirty, old-school Thrash Metal in the vein of old Slayer or maybe Possessed with fast, sloppy playing, relentless energy, raspy vocals, and songs about beer, evil, and Satan, and you'd be spot on doing so. I wish I could say it's a great example of all that, but really it's just ok. The riffs are all standard and the songs more or less sound the same, which isn't unexpected, but there's really not enough energy to pull it off without becoming tedious, especially when most of the tracks on here could have been cut by a minute or two and been more fun for it. Perfectly competent, but nothing special. |
