Night Prowler's No Escape... opens with a keyboard instrumental, which is a bit odd, as it quickly shifts gears with "Make it Real" into an old-school, ass-kicking metal album with high-pitched screams, tasty riffs and pounding bottom end galore. There's an '80s feel to the vocals, which are treated with a lot of echo as well as the songwriting, which takes a hard-charging approach allowing the band to let it all hang out. Some of the lyrics ("Love Hard Girls") give the songs the flavor of early Dokken or Ratt, which goes along with the upbeat tempos and intricate solos while others ("Stranger", "Make it Real") have more of a NWOBHM vibe. There's nothing on No Escape... that you haven't heard before but, any way you slice it, Night Prowler play no frills metal that is throw a fist in the air fun.
