Herman Frank came up with such a killer album with Loyal to None in 2009 that the albums that followed were kind of a let-down. They weren't bad by any means, far from that, but the band set the bar so high with that debut that it was hard to live up to it. Two for a Lie doesn't quite live up to it either, but personally this is my second favourite from the band.

The album gets the hostilities started on a high note with "Teutonic Order" and things don't really slow down from there. What we have here is an album full of catchy, heavy power metal that often calls for singalongs and massive headbanging. It's one of those albums that achieves the delicate balance between accessible and underground, with infectious, memorable songs that nevertheless pack so much heavy metal goodness that even the most nitpicking fan of the genre should find something to like. If you like heavy power metal that makes a stand while being a hell of a lot of fun, or if you had given up on the band because they didn't quite manage to do another Loyal to None, then Two for a Lie might be worth a look as it's probably as close to it as you can get.
