Deadwolff are a new band out of Toronto that sound about as old school as it gets. They blend heavy metal, hard rock and even a little bit of punk and what you'll hear on this self-titled demo, first released digitally in 2020 and now reissued on cassette (100 copies only), sounds like a mix of '70s heavy rock and punk and early '80s heavy metal. Sounds like fun? It is. You get that hard edge that makes it "metal enough" for metalheads to air guitar to it, but also lots of singalong catchiness that makes it quite accessible to a wider audience. This is the kind of stuff you want on the stereo when having a good party with friends with lots of beer and room to headbang and play air guitar. If you have an ear (or just nostalgia) for '70s hard/heavy rock and early '80s hard rock and heavy metal, you're pretty much guaranteed to love this. |
