In the Hand of the Reaper is the debut EP from Sweden's Morbid Breath and other than that, I don't have a lot of info from Redefining Darkness Records, the label giving it a CD release. It is marked by harsh vocals and fat riffs that aren't played uniformly fast, so the label on Metal-Archives of "death/thrash" doesn't jibe with what I'm hearing, which is a black/death and roll vibe. The songs are propulsive but not overly memorable, making In the Hand of the Reaper fine while it is on but nothing that begs repeated listens. Morbid Breath haven't come up with anything you need to actively seek out, but they haven't embarrassed themselves by any means.
