This band has a rather grandiose name, when they could have just called themselves Amon Amarth. Okay, that's not really fair, as they are not as derivative as that, though there is a marked resemblance. Tragedy and Triumph actually evince some more moody, melodic passages that hark back to Bathory's Viking period, as they are definitely meant to. This is a heavy album with a lot of visceral punch, and songwriting that is aggressive while managing to reach for more than that. For a first album this is really polished, and this will be a band to watch if you like Viking-styled Death Metal
