A rerelease of this band's third album, originally released only digitally in 2010, this is another fine slab of what Tristwood do well. Now that you have so many technical Death/Black bands who use science-fiction themes and electronic sounds, Tristwood sound like they were ahead of their time even just ten years ago. I think the riffs on this are stronger than on the last full-length, and I like the way the menacing electronic sounds are integrated into the music, creating a really intense, theatrical sound. Tristwood have been toiling away in the underground for a long time, but I think they deserve a lot more attention than they get. |
