This Belarusian band started life as a pagan black metal band and moved toward more atmospheric horizons, but the pagan thing is still lurking in the shadows. It's very melodic, gloomy, dark, sometimes depressing yet somewhat soothing black metal through and through and, as such, makes for a good listen when you want to relax (well, your mileage may vary; this stuff relaxes me). The heaviness is the constant here, delivered in slow to mid-paced black metal that at most gets the head bobbing or the foot tapping. I can't say I've heard anything here that I haven't heard many times before, but the album is pretty solid and flows very well. |
