Hex Wound are a new Black/Death act run by duo Bind and Cast, who released their debut EP Averse to the Universe just last year. Musically, they take very clear influence from Dark Funeral, as they display the kind of relentless fury across all four tracks, though Hex Wound are far more technical than that would imply. Every song blasts forth with breathtaking intensity and is surprisingly catchy in spite of that, which is all helped by a solid production and killer musicianship that all boast a greater degree of professionalism than you often find from a band of newcomers like this. I don't really have much more to say than that, other than this is a highly promising release from a band that any fan of more intricate Black/Death will want to keep an eye on in the future. |
