Nocturnal never really change, and that means the bad gets repeated along with the good. You would think that by now this band would have figured out how to get a good guitar sound, but yet again they saddle themselves with a muted, smooth sound that does not rip and tear like a Blackened Thrash sound should. Once again, the songs are decent, if a bit more ambitious than their usual, and the riffs are pretty good, rather than great. This band badly wants to be another Desaster or Sodom, but they will never get there unless they take the retainer out and show me some teeth. |
