Second album for this band, formed by some members of Australian cult act Nazxul, who have been slashing away at the underground since the '90s, so while this is a new band, the members are definite veterans. Once more, rather than the bullet-belt-eating style of Down Under Black Metal, this is a more epic disc in line with mid-period Graveland or Temnozor, with long songs and melodic riffs building a moody, dark atmosphere. The production is a bit deeper than on their debut, but the guitar sound has a little less bite, and some of the songwriting lacks a bit of focus. Overall, this has a more melancholic sound than before, but it will definitely take you on its dark journey. |
