These guys are obviously aiming for a classic metal sound like Warlord or Deadly Blessing, but there are a couple of problems with this disc that hinder it. For one, the production is very weak, with the vocals way out front and the guitars way in the background. Now, singer Marius Bonisch is not bad, but he's not up to carrying the whole album. He kind of reminds me of Steve Steel from the old Steel Attack days—energetic but not otherwise an amazing singer. Some of the riffs are good here, but they really suffer from the weak recording, and there are not really any ace songs on the track list. This band has the right idea, but they need work. |
