Some pretty slow-moving atmospheric black metal here, very doomy and sorrowful and kind of relaxing and soothing on a grim day. This is an album that you could almost say sounds like its artwork. There are some speedier passages, but the album is mostly slow to mid-paced, with a heavy bassy sound and the vocals are tortured and add a lot to the doomy atmosphere. This is not the kind of black metal you listen to when you need to get your ass kicked, but rather when you want to kick back and reflect—well, works for me anyway. ;)
