Morbid Messiah haven't calmed down one bit since their 2018 debut, Demoniac Paroxysm. This new EP follows in the same steps of raw and dirty death metal, and that applies to both the music and production—a good thing as I think a nice clean production just wouldn't work with the band's material. This stuff is heavy as fuck with wall-to-wall sound that doesn't leave any breathing room, with speedsters that'll mess up your neck and slower numbers that crank the heaviness up to 11 and make the walls and floor shake. The vocals sometimes sound downright nightmarish, such as on "Dungeon of Vermin", it's impossible to listen to this stuff and remain still. There are some spoken intros and I'm not much of a fan of that stuff, but they work within the context, so I'll give that a pass. ;) Bottom line, this is a nice little serving of insane, heavy and raw death metal that one has come to expect from these Mexicans. |
