Barbarian Wrath (Witches Brew) was always good for underground slayage, and this reissue is no exception. Evokador are an extremely underground Guatemalan band who have not released anything since this one in 2017. It's an EP, but the Barbarian Wrath version also includes the previous Vomito de la Tierra EP, so you get more bang for the buck. Evokador are underground, and they sound like it, with a rough production job and messy playing, but the riff quality and energy level shine through and make this an enjoyable blast of old-school mayhem. This is a really chaotic ride of an album, but it will keep your fist in the air. |
