Say, do you like murky, grinding Death Metal in the vein of acts like Purtenance, Mortician, and Cadaveric Incubator? Well, good news, Casket do too, and they've been making the stuff since the early '90s. Their latest EP, Urn, is basically just more of that, with all the skull-crushing heaviness and classic brutality you'd expect. I wish I had more to say, but this is a pretty typical release in the genre that just happens to be a fun time despite being devoid of originality. The live tracks stapled on the end suffer from awful sound quality to the point of being unlistenable, but the original tracks are all entertaining enough while they're on, even if they don't really stand out. Overall, you get what you pay for with this one, making this a safe bet, albeit an unexceptional one.
