Eternity’s End have put out three killer albums now in less than five years, and they are still flying under the radar and have not really broken big. I hope that does not last, as this band is too good to sleep on. A lineup of experienced veterans—headed by guitar virtuoso Christian Munzer and fronted by ex-Hibria wailer Iuri Sanson—means this is a band with all the weapons at its disposal that it could want, and the results are pure Power Metal gold. The prog tendencies are almost all gone, and this is just distilled Power Metal, with catchy vocal lines, energetic riffs, and some jaw-dropping musicianship. Songs like "The Hounds of Tindalos", "Call of the Valkyries" and "Deathrider" flash addictive riffing and choruses you will be singing along with before your first listen is even over. Fans of glossy, heavy Power Metal like Firewind, Gamma Ray, and even Iron Savior will find a lot here to love. |
