Second album from this German band who are doing it up ‘80s style, with a slightly thrashy Trad Metal sound that borrows from bands like Cage, Nocturnal Rites, or Ram, while vocalist Denis Brosowski is straight-up channeling Warning-era Geoff Tate, right down to certain vocal tics and stylistic flourishes so that it can’t be an accident. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, and the vocals are a highlight of the album that already has highlights with the heavy, crunchy riffs and high-octane songwriting. A really class album from a band with a lot of potential. |
