I made the laundry detergent comment a couple of years ago (I had forgotten about that!), so I won’t make it again. The Sanctity of Death is another strong offering from Ultra Silvam, with a black metal strongly rooted in the second wave but actualized enough that it doesn’t sound dated or stale. The shortish running length is packed with mostly fast black metal but with a good dose of melody and some slower passages that break the mood and make the listener pay attention. I like how every listen brings up something I hadn’t heard on prior listens, making the album sound a little fresher every time. It’s not really original, but it’s well done. |
