Some pretty cool barebones speed/thrash with a first-wave blackened vibe here, and the obligatory zest of punk from that era. Reaper (this one from Melbourne, Australia) aren’t inventing anything here, riding a couple of retro waves and mixing them rather successfully like many other bands playing this stuff in recent years. Fast-paced with harsh, raspy vocals, a little chaotic but not too much, catchy here and there, all this makes for a lot of headbanging fun. No need to say more, if you like the genre, you’re bound to find something to like on this Viridian Inferno. |
