Review

I have missed a few Wolf albums over the years, so it was time to do something about that. Long story short, Shadowland is fun. A lot of it is upbeat and catchy as hell, yet the band did not compromise on crunchy, heavy guitars and pounding drums and a lot of songs here just call for you to dust off your air instruments. Most of it is relatively fast paced, though you will also find slower numbers like "Trial by Fire" which, despite a more melancholic vibe and its slow pace, has about as much staying power as the catchiest stuff on the album. The vocals are a bit of an acquired taste, but the vocal melodies are bound to get you going if you have the smallest hint of a pulse. Solid stuff that gets better the more you listen to it.
