I have been a fan of this band for years. There are a lot of bands doing the Epic/Atmospheric Black Metal thing these days, and there are similarities here to bands like Saor, as well as Cascadian sounds like Falls of Rauros, but I just find this band is a cut above in the sense that they are able to evoke a genuine atmosphere and feel that involves me beyond just the sound. This is their fifth album, and sixth overall release, and they are all worth hearing if you dig on this kind of stuff. This album is a little more hard-edged, more direct and harsher that some of their older stuff, but it still wields emotion and mood heavy enough to crush your lungs. |
