This is pretty brutal death metal out of Mexico. Not brutal as in the usual "brutal death metal" subgenre, but just a full-on, in-your-face unrelenting aural assault. There's barely any bit that qualifies as a break in the entire album, it's just full steam ahead, take no prisoners and destroy everything in its path. Musically, this has, of course, been done before, but Ravenous Death have a knack for making their songs sound dark and evil as fuck and there's an omnipresent horror-like atmosphere that's sometimes chilling. Good stuff. |
