Depravement are a Finnish Black/Death band that are doing the damndest to be as old school as possible. I mean, this demo was released on a plain TDK D60 cassette with a xeroxed cover, it just doesn't get any more DIY than that! The music itself follows suit, being vicious, unpolished, and brutal right down to the bone. Comparisons can be made with Blasphemy's early demos and Beherit's The Oath along with snippets akin to a slowed-down Fallen Christ (R.I.P.), but they also throw in some creepy sound effects and a resounding vocal style akin to Nuclear Holocausto, which makes this a lot more fun to listen to than the average Black/Death/Something release. Sure, this isn't original or first-rate, but it's as raw and uncompromising as you can get and perfectly captures the feeling of the late '80s/early '90s scene without any gimmicks or bullshit getting in the way. True underground Black/Death that'll crucify you on a blood-soaked cross.
