Third album for this band I had never heard of, who apparently started in the '90s as a melodeath band, and have not released a full-length for 25 years. Since the last century, they evolved into a more Black Metal style, while keeping the "melodic" part. This is obviously very much based on the sound of bands like Sacramentum or even Dissection, with constant tremolo riffs and some mood built up by the harmonic structures that build tension with dissonance. The songwriting is decent enough, but it really just lacks anything to grab onto. You listen to this and any one part sounds good, but it just goes on (and on, it's a long album) without anything really standing out about it. It's well played and well produced, but it has absolutely nothing to say.
