Walk Through Hell is the fourth album from Circle of Silence, a band out of Germany that plays a very crunchy brand of Euro power metal. I appear to have missed their third album (2018's The Crimson Throne), but from what I hear on Walk Through Hell, it picks up where 2013's The Rise of Resistance left off, specifically solid songwriting that doesn't produce anything amazing but never lets you down either. Their sound is big and bold, and the songs have a heavy dose of snarl and grit to go with dark melodies and catchy vocal lines. "Triumph or Tragedy" is my favorite track as the chorus is huge and reminds me of later Mob Rules in its melody and feel for hooks. As I said earlier, there aren't any bad songs, but none that left the lasting impression of "Triumph or Tragedy." If you want your power metal delivered with a bite, give Walk Through Hell a spin. |
