Some killer artwork for this album, and it reveals some pretty damn good violent, speedy death metal with a hit of black metal to spice things up a little. The vocals are a weird mix of very guttural, pukey growls and high-pitched black metal screeches and that's the Achilles Heel of this album, though that's mostly a matter of taste. The music is a little all over the place, from razor-sharp, precise, fast and ripping guitar work to being hyper chaotic and all over the place. Unlike the weird vocal arrangements, this actually works pretty well. I'd say that, for someone who is into "regular" death metal and considering going into more brutal, savage and violent black/death, this album is a good bridge between the too to get a taste of the more extreme while keeping a foot in chartered territory. |
