This is the second album from Aussie band Golgothan Remains, who play a fast but not technical brand of Death Metal with obvious influence from the frenetic NYDM scene bands like Incantation or Immolation. That said, there is also a definite Australian/Osmose kick to their sound in the rather dry recording job and the aggressive use of textured rhythms to drive the heaviness rather than putting more crunch on the guitar sound. The riffs and melodies on this are what gets my attention and keeps me going, as there is a lot more shade and subtlety here than you would expect. Overall I found this a lot better than I expected.
