This is a band that proudly details their jazz influences, and so I was expecting some diddle-deedly Cynic bullshit, but actually this doesn’t sound like that. This has a definite Death Metal sound as a base, but then it goes into these long, involved compositions that twist and turn through unexpected riffs and melodies. The vocals are minimal and not very good, with just a lot of sounds like a barfing dog under the mix. Like a lot of this kind of music, the lack of structure really hampers it, and it is mostly just these shapeless masses of riffs that wind along and never seem to really go anywhere. |
