Debut EP for this band, and if I told you this is a band from Finland who are trying to evoke that mid-90s second-wave sound, then you would know exactly what they sound like just from that. The biggest influence here is clearly Emperor, though there are also some bits from bands like Thy Serpent, Lord Belial, and Limbonic Art. What I like about this is the hard-edged guitar sound that really gives this a harsh vibe, and there are some great riffs buried in here. The vocals are mixed low, and become just another sound in the wall of noise. The lead playing on this is actually quite good, with a good tone and a solid sense of phrasing. If you like this kind of thing, then this is a band to watch. |
