Interesting combination we have here - think Death/Thrash but with some (I stress some) Black Metal influences as well. Vocally the style is in the same line as God Dethroned, a raspy voice that borders on the growling without really getting there, with the lyrics sometimes understandable without much effort on the listener's part. Speaking of God Dethroned, I can't help but hear a number of musical similarities as well, in style and in playing - so fans of G.D. are likely to find something they like here. Could Rammer be the bastard child of God Dethroned and Aura Noir? :) As always, it's difficult to judge such a short recording (but it is unusual to see one so nicely packaged.) I can't say that any of this stuff is really new to this listener, but Rammer are good at what they do and look to me like a bunch who want to succeed and are here for the long run - they sure seem to have what it takes. Check this out and watch for an eventual full-length(?) as a follow-up... |
