I don’t know, I think this band’s name is cool. Motör Militia hail from Bahrain, of all places, not exactly a regular country listed as the location for a metal band. Don’t get too excited, their thrash is quite standard and doesn’t have anything special related to the band’s location. But it’s good stuff. World in Flames is filled with raging, hard-hitting, razor-sharp thrash that packs a hell of a lot of punch. These guys play it fast and rarely let the foot off the gas pedal, so if you like speedy, aggressive thrash, you’re pretty much guaranteed to find something to like here. The vocals are harsh shouts that sound a bit on the modern-ish side as far as vocal styles are concerned, and at times I found them annoying, but ultimately the music more than makes up for it, and it’s likely that a more toned-down vocal style wouldn’t quite match the ferocity on display here. Motör Militia have been around since 2001 and, despite the location, I’m surprised their name hasn’t seen more recognition. |
