This Argentinian band is mining the strike of ‘80s metal that includes bands like Accept as well as speedier stuff like Exciter, all of it wrapped in a classic chugging riff style and a bit of guitar-hero flash. They remind me pretty strongly of fellow retro weirdos like Ravage or Alltheniko with their fast, catchy songs and high-pitched vocal stylings. For the most part, the vocal melodies are second fiddle to the hooky riffs, and your air-guitar hand will get a workout much more than you will be singing along. Still, this is a strong album of speedy, fun metal that’s trying to evoke the old days and doing a pretty damned good job of it. |
