Debut album for this Finnish band who are definitely more in the accessible end of the Black Metal pool. This is slickly produced and has some decent heaviness, the main influences being second-wave mainstays like Emperor and Dissection. The songwriting is solid but conventional, and the riffs all sound like ones you have heard before. This is competent and well produced, but there’s not any mood or atmosphere to be heard, and the whole thing is very glossy but lacks any kind of character. |
