Some pretty busy death metal from Brazil here. These guys are not the most original band out there (and, as I’ve often said, it’s not exactly easy to stand out these days), but they play a very heavy, pounding brand of death metal that’s not without reminding me of the NYDM scene. They’ve got that slow beat going on that calls for a slow and "pronounced" headbanging style, so even though it’s obvious those notes are going by fast, overall it’s all about a slow, heavy and pounding death metal that just fucking crushes. They do speed things up here and there, but overall it’s just a crushing onslaught of abrasive death metal and I didn’t need any convincing to hit "play" again once the album was over. A cool cover of Grave’s "Into the Grave" ends the hostilities, things getting faster and thrashier with this one. Good stuff. |
