This band has been through a lot of names. They started in the ‘80s as Heathen (not that Heathen), then changed to Caustic Visage, then Anarchy Divine before settling on Resistance. They apparently used to be much more of a Thrash band, and while they definitely retain some Thrash in their sound, this is pretty much pure ‘80s metal all the way. The base of this is heavy, chugging riffs topped off by the sneering vocals of frontman Robert Hett. The whole sound reminds me a lot of classic US-Metal acts like Widow or Vicious Rumors. The musicianship and energy on this are first-rate, but the songs are not always as good, and on the whole this is not that memorable. |
