Never heard this band before, but if this EP is representative of their past work, it’ll be worth digging in their past material. Ritualization play rather complex blackened death and they don’t go for the quick and dirty approach, with the three songs here clocking in at a little over 25 minutes. This stuff is pretty raw and old school and there’s a lot going on between the dark, gloomy atmosphere and a music that at times remind me a little bit of The Chasm in the early 2000s. The vocals are a deep, crude growl that adds a lot to the atmosphere and fits everything here like a glove. There’s an epic vibe going on here as well and despite this being EP-length, there’s so much going on that it feels like you’re listening to a full-length. Good stuff. |
