The band name and logo alone should tell you roughly what to expect here. That's right, this is old-school thrash to the core. This time the Chileans opted for a Reign-in-Blood-esque 29 minutes. Not nearly as evil sounding, No Life Forms is really a speed fest as it's pretty much pedal to the metal from beginning to end. This stuff is not particularly original, but it's not like Critical Defiance sound exactly like some other band either. Basically, they took some of the more extreme '80s thrash sound (without going too underground, as there was some lesser-known raw stuff back then) and cranked it up to 11. No Life Forms sounds clean, but the razor-sharp guitars make up for the polish, as do the borderline harsh vocals. If you like fast guitars, you're in for a treat. If you try to headbang to this, you'll make your chiropractor very rich. The old-school thrash scene has been busy for a few years now, but this album certainly stands out a bit from the crowd.
