There are a lot of bands influenced by Summoning, and particularly the earlier-period stuff like Dol Guldur or Nightshade Forests, and this album is definitely in that camp. A one-man band from Sweden, Lustre has put out eight full-length albums over the past 14 years, in among the expected swarm of demos, EPs, splits and compilations. This is a nice smooth, mellow listen, with the guitars very low in the mix and the keys taking center stage. If you love Nightshade Forests as much as this guy obviously does, you will probably like this too, but if you want something heavy or aggressive this is the wrong disc. |
