Hulder is a bit different, in that they are a one-man black metal band, only with a woman instead. I can't say I have ever seen that before, and so it caught my interest more than this otherwise might have. Rather than the kind of raw, minimalist production I expected, this is much more advanced, with a good sound and a lot of bite to the guitars. The vocals are a harsh snarl, and if you didn't know this was a woman, you'd never guess. I like this EP, even if there is nothing especially standout about it. |
