I see this listed as prog some places, and while it does feature longer songs and some more compositional complexity, it does not feature the showy playing or clean sound people often expect from something labeled as such. This is a Portuguese band, and they have a rough similarity to bands like Morgana LeFay or Evergrey who mix heaviness with more involved songwriting. Overall I find this interesting but not really compelling. The riffs and production are good, the songs have a good amount of variety, and the rough-but-tuneful vocals of singer "Rez" make for a cohesive sound, but the music as a whole does not wield the same kind of cohesion, and so while any one part of this sounds good, there is nothing especially memorable about any of it. The running time is pretty padded out, as the band really, really liked the song "Saudade," as this features no fewer than four versions of it, three of them as bonus tracks. Even without them this is an hour-long album, and while it has some good moments, it just doesn't come together that well.
