This is a relatively new band put together as a solo project by a guy named Andrew Lee, who has a bunch of other bands he is part of. Ripped to Shreds have put out three albums now, and in the past few years real members have been added, so it's not strictly a one-man act. This is fairly brutal Death Metal that has some nods to the Swedish school, but is mostly very much in the vein of traditional US-Death. I hear some Immolation and some Morbid Angel along with flavorings of stuff like Dismember and Grave. This is pretty good, but overall I don't think it has enough identity of its own, and once it is done you won't remember much about it. |
