This band has been around for like 16 years, putting out demos and EPs, only now getting a full-length album released. This is a Finnish band, and that creates certain expectations, but they are really aiming for something very different from the usual. This is heavy, but it employs spacey rhythms and tolling clean melodic chords to create a strange atmosphere. I am reminded a bit of odd works like the early albums of Septicflesh and the dense experimentalism of Necrophagia. This is interesting, but the musical ideas are often too drawn-out and lose your attention, and the riffs and melodies are not good enough to sail the band past these problems. It's not the usual, but it's not there yet.
