I somehow never got around to checking out this band despite reviews of their past output by both Sargon and MetalMike that hinted at something I was bound to like. I found that this album sounded a little off on the first listen, mostly because of the vocals that take a little getting used to, a high-pitched style that sounds really raw, but after a couple of listens I found myself wanting to sing along. This is very much rooted in the '80s and it's one of those albums that, if someone told you it had been released 40 years ago, you wouldn't argue. Everything here screams '80s, with the distinction that it's really more on the raw side. It's anything but polished, in a good way, and that gives the songs quite a good power kick. Vocals, guitars, drums—everything here will make you want to dust off your air instruments and join in on the fun. |
