Nocturnal Sorcery are a Finnish Black Metal band that's been around since 2011, but like any self-respecting project of the type, it's taken a little over a decade and a few demos and splits for them to make a full-length. The Holy Law in Total Ruin is all about savage, barbaric Black Metal with blistering tempos, jagged guitar work that's akin to a bloody chainsaw ripping into flesh, and vile, demonic rasps that even stops to be more moody and mid-tempo from time to time. There's nothing game changing or stand out to be found, but the point of this kind of album is not originality, but to make it very clear that you hate whoever is listening to this and want them to be torn to ribbons by the undead ghouls you summon with your evil music. Nocturnal Sorcery have that down pretty well, and that's about all I can ask them to do. |
