Nigromante have been around in one form or another since 2003, containing an ever-shifting lineup until they settled into a two-piece for their 2014 debut, Black Magic Night. On their follow-up, Summon the Devil, these Spaniards work in a down and dirty old-school sound somewhere between Grave Digger, Anvil, and Tank, complete with a classic rock 'n' roll mentality and rough, throaty vocals akin to mixing Grave Digger's Chris Boltendahl and old Tank's Algy Ward in a blender. It's simple, it's rocking, and it's not surprising in the slightest, and that is exactly what I look for in bands who are nostalgic for the good old days when now classic bands first started rocking the socks (and maybe underwear) off of their listeners. An uncomplicated good time. |
