This is the debut from a Czech band who are working a big, dense Black Metal sound that recalls bands like Deathspell Omega or Mitochondrion in the ambition of the arrangements and the fairly long, involved compositions. The production is rich and heavy, with a lot of depth and layers to it, the riffs are cool, and the album sustains a consistent, dark mood. Sometimes things get a little repetitive and go on too long, but it's not a major flaw. A strong start.
