Third album from this Chilean band and, like their last one, it is a wickedly fast blackened thrash assault. Dry, tortured rasps, squealing guitars and an evil vibe emanate from every part of The Dance of the Four Elemental Serpents. Black/thrash is a crowded field these days and I still don't hear anything particularly distinctive in Hellish's approach, though they don't do anything that makes me want to turn their music off. I just don't know if there's anything here that says, "this is Hellish." I like this well enough while it is on, and you will too if you eat and breathe black/thrash, but you've also heard plenty like it before. |
